Gathering of the Eleven

Gathering / Conference

1352
2/3

A historical date in history where the previous 8 great cities decided to meet and include the recently formed cities and attempt to bring an end to the Skirmishes of the South by signing the Treaty of Unity

The Gathering was held in Salmyr once again, in a grand hall situated at the heart of the city, where the delegates from the eleven cities convened. The hall was adorned with tapestries, banners, and heraldry representing each city, a visual display of their diversity and unity in the face of adversity.   The discussions were heated, with representatives from each city passionately presenting their grievances and demands. Tensions ran high as accusations were made, and past conflicts were brought to the forefront. However, the skilled diplomats among the delegates sought to find common ground and avert further bloodshed.   Days turned into weeks as negotiations continued, with the delegates engaging in intense debates, deliberations, and compromises. There were disagreements, alliances formed, and betrayals revealed. It was a test of diplomatic prowess and political maneuvering as each city sought to safeguard its interests while finding a way to end the escalating conflicts.   Finally, after much deliberation, a treaty was reached. The Eleven Cities agreed to open wider diplomatic channels and establish mechanisms for peaceful dispute resolution in neutral territories. They also pledged to cooperate in matters of trade, defense, and mutual benefit. It was a historic moment as the representatives of the eleven Cities signed the treaty, sealing their commitment to peace and unity. The treaty was then dubbed entitled "The Treaty of Unity"   The Gathering of the Eleven Cities marked a turning point in Argus' history, bringing a near-complete end to the skirmishes and paving the way for increased cooperation and collaboration among the cities. It was a testament to the power of diplomacy and the wisdom of finding common ground amidst differences, and it set the stage for a new era of peace, prosperity, and mutual respect. Unfortunately, Skartuun refused to sign the treaty, as both their diplomats and leaders had been the source of incessant overbearing security measures and the treaty would reduce their ability to trade more openly with "atypical"(read monster factions) traders which was their main source of revenue at the time.   Regardless, the door was kept open should Skartuun decide to sit back down at the table at a later point in time to be officially part of the treaty and union of cities.
