The Followers of Raven

Those that follow The Raven do not question her tenets. Nor do they seek and kind of advancement in their numbers. The fate seers and augers of the world they seek to ask the questions of Society more then questions of their own. Providing the answer as it is written in the Codex. Good or Bad then impart the advice on how to Celebrate or atone for the answer. It is a believe The Followers were first conceived when The Raven decided to visit an old Seeress on the outskirts of society. Lune was and orphan who had the eyes to see the truth behind peoples motives in the world, and she helped it to strength to first societies to rise in the early years of Arinethia. She was often invited to functions of state to represent to voice of reason in the proceedings, but often acted as mediator when emotions where high. The status of Lune is unknown but every age a Grand Seeress is found amongst orphans in the world. So say this orphan is Lune come back to once again mediate the conflicts of the world, and assist The raven with gathering truths for the Codex. Asking any of the Followers a question regarding Lune or the current Grand Seeress results in a warm smile and an out of sorts Maternal reaction from the Follower asked. Every ruling house in the world that seeks to assist the passage of events consult The Followers on actions he wishes to take, weighing his options carefully and pursuing the one he feels is in his best interest. The Followers gain most of their funding through donations and all of that funding is used for humanitarian efforts. Every major city has one of their Orphanages. Where the Children learn Trade skills and life skills for when they reach the age they can decide for them selves. Majorty of which go off into the world to make names for themselves as Master tradesmen. Those who decide to stay with The Followers tend to find a way to give back to the woman that took them in off the streets with a loving smile and a warm, dry place to sleep. Most of the young woman take vows of Solidarity and quietly server the communities of man as Followers themselves. Where the young men ply their trades to provide funding for the church, and often build Structures for the down and betrodden out of kindness, as well as craft beautiful artworks for the few Temples of The Raven that dot the wilderness.

Structure

Every Orphanages operates as a temple inside the cities they are built in.
The Orphanage is Run by a Grandmaster and a Grandmistress who attending to the maintaining the classes for the children as well as the finer workings of running and maintaining the temple.
The temple itself is run by a Mistress of the Temple who often ventures to state functions up to a days travel from the temple to act as a moderator. The Normal Practioners of the temple are all female and Seeress in their own right and will gladly ask a question for anyone who takes the time to quietly contemplate then provide there intentions as to why they seek the answer.
The Ravens Temple is the Grand Temple atop Ravens rock where it is said the Grand Seeress Lune Stepted unto the turbulent winds at the top of the Cliff face and walked into The Ravens arms as was brought into her afterlife in her warming abrace. The present acting Grand Seeress and the Matron Seeress, the Title granted to the previous Grand Seeress after steeping down from the honorary status to teach and advice the current holder.

Culture

Most of the Followers at one point in their lives take a Pilgrimage to Ravens Rock to offer gifts to the winds of ravens rock given in gratitude for the blessings received from being raise inside the temples. Althou everything is cast to the winds, nothing is found upon the lands beneath the cliff face. The Items Believed to be added to the shelves inside The Ravens Private place of comtmeplation, rumored she views them with a mothers love when she is not writing in her Codex.

The also have Temples dedicated to The Raven dotting the wilderness where travelers stop during their travels for food and warmth before continuing on.
Every Settlement that is at least a town or greater has one of their Orphanage Temples within it's walls

The Orphanages are run by craftsmen who where trained and learned within the Orphanages themselves the basic classes are of all the trades and the children can decide to pursue any trades they wish for who ever long they wish the learn it. Their are many Tradesmen from these Orphanages that are masters at multiple crafts

Mythology & Lore

The Raven found the world in a state of chaos and disorder. Feeling that Society had no chance at advancement in it's current state. She gifted the races the common language so the fractured feuding societies could reach a peace and began to write and communicate their many histories amongst themselves and tell stories of their deeds to each other and seek to perform deeds that where worth writing down.

The Grand Seeress Lune was beleaved to be the first to begin the teachings of The Raven to other Orphans of the world and the first Orphanage of The Raven was founded in the Capital of Yarinia prior to the rise of the first Prime Doomsayer

Cosmological Views

as it is written in the Codex The world was conceived after a Battel amongst the gods reached it's final conclusion and one of the lesser gods sacrificed all his divine power to stop the battel the resulting expansion of power tore lands from all planes and times and cast it into the emptiness that was created. After a time these lands started to attract towards each other and the world of Arinethia was formed when the lands settled in their current space and time. Due to the multiple points in time being brought together as it balanced out in it's own rhythm families where pulled from their true locations in their own worlds to awaken in this new world the early societies has little in common that even the humans differed so much that they all seemed to be monsters to other members of their own race. Over time The Raven found this Orphaned world without a deity and felt sorrow for this creation of chaos and started to guide it and give it structure so it could grow and flourish

The Followers who become Seeress take a vow of Solidarity. Not in the seclusion but in dedication to having no other wishes then to serve the church as a Seeress

Priesthood

Those of the religion tend to support the church for the good is does in the world. Most of the Orphans from their orphanages go on to have loving families of their own where they teach their children the skills taught by the church as well as it's wisdoms.

Granted Divine Powers

The ability to consult The Ravens Codex as she has written it hand glean from it's historical pages answers that are asked of them by the population and offer guidance in regards to what their next choices will result in based on the past histories of the world.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Every Nobel in the realm has spoke with The Followers at one point in their lives, and their answers to the questions asked of them carries the weight of past Seeress being correct in the outcomes due to past actions.
It is offer considered a great Honor to be approached by the Church to have an Orphanage built within the city and there normal a Follower of the church willing to give up their land and start anew so the Church can build at that location

Sects

The Talons
Consist of those from the Orphanages who have taken up the study of the blade. They operate without Guidance from the church and seek to fine tune their art of war. Some believe The Talons are just mercenaries for hire looking for their next great battel. The Truth behind The Talons is they wish to guide the advancement of society so The Ravens Codex will never end
