Lumys (LOO-miss)

Lumys is the power of light, wielded strictly by the Solassi Court of the Empress. Lumine draw their power from the Lys Crista.

Manifestation

Long praised for being the greatest power bestowed by the gods, Lumys is a pure, hot light drawn from the aether, the wielder's surroundings, and from within the user themselves. Lumyssal Light can grow to be twice as bright and strong as regular daylight, and a skilled wielder may bend and twist it to manipulate certain sights and even sounds.
On rare occasions, the ability to completely transform a person's view of reality can be summoned by a wielder. Using the light like a paintbrush of fantasy, the wielder may use the light to create images that are not there (mirages) and, in extreme cases, to disarm an opponent through blinding.

Localization

The power of Lumys is restricted to use by the royal Solassi bloodline, select Lumine tradespeople, priestesses, and military officials. Celebrations of Lumine heroines are common and widespread holidays across the Empire, but especially in Solassia itself.
Lumys may be used anywhere on the continent but works best in high light conditions, namely direct sunlight.
