SHATTERED MOUNTAINS
Overview
The Shattered Mountains are a mountain range located in the western lands of the main island of Swindon, known by all residents for the intense veilstorms that occurred almost year-round. The range is barely inhabited save for a few mistvell villages whom the denizens consider insane for living so close to such a dangerous place. The local veilstorms helped the Shattered Mountains gain the fame that it possesses.Geography
The Shattered Storm Mountains consist of four mountains that form a massive circle around a large patch of land, with two valleys that allows for entry and exit for anyone who manages to stay alive in the pathway. There is strange plant life there whose origin the residents of Swindon believe is not of this realm. The water is the only thing that isn’t affected by the veilstorms, flowing along three rivers that stretches throughout the valley.
Ecosystem
Due to the presence of the highly dangerous veilstorms, the ecosystem of the Shattered Mountains is practically nonexistent. The plants that do grow there display otherworldly features that leaves residents cautious about examining them, plus the veilstorms kepts curious explorers at bay who value their lives over making an discovery. The water within the Shattered Mountains is the only part of the ecosystem that is not affected by the veilstorms, although they do absorb the otherworldly qualities of the strange plants
Localized Phenomena
The main localized phenomena of the Shattered Mountains is the ever-present veilstorms that caused the mountain ranges to earn their name. When the first veilstorms appeared in Swindon, they were so powerful that the singular large mountain was literally shattered into the four mountains that are known. The force, thunder, lightning, and otherworldly energies within the veilstorms ripped the mountain apart, and caused massive tremors that further reshape the landscape.
Interesting history. I wonder about Mistveil villages. What are they? How do theysurvive? It seems the Veilstorms are a moutainside event rather than valley.
The mistveil villages are something that will be explore in the future, especially their connections to the events surrounding Swindon.
