The Inquisitors

The Inquisitors were a religious sect that emerged within the Alemnic Purist movement, in response to the discovery of what they believed to be the evil nature of the gods and wanderers. They believed that these entities were not benevolent or divine, but rather malevolent beings that sought to control and manipulate humanity.

The Inquisitors' core beliefs were similar to those of the later Abandonists, in that they rejected the reliance on myth and instead favored a more rational, natural view of the world and its history. They believed that the universe and planet arose naturally, without the intervention of any supernatural forces.

However, the Inquisitors were more aggressive in their pursuit of knowledge and power to fight against the gods and wanderers. They developed advanced technologies and weapons to aid them in their quest, but their extreme methods and beliefs ultimately led to their downfall.

The Alemnic Purists, who considered the Inquisitors to be a dangerous heretical sect, hunted them to near extinction. The few survivors fled to Erothi, where they eventually became the Abandonists. The Abandonists rejected the Inquisitors' violent methods and instead focused on the pursuit of knowledge and understanding through peaceful means.
