A Tribe of Amazons
High in the trees in the deepest depths of the Spiral Mountains lies a small village of predominantly female elves dedicated to "their Lady". They are fiercely independent and deadly solo killers, surviving in the darkest heart of the Echovad Forest in spite of the presence of violent monsters who have been driven into the the depths of the forest by the encroachment of the elves.
Relations with Outsiders
Other elves do not seek out the Erengyrians in their home community and advise against it to other races, as the Erengyrians are known for their hostility to outsiders. When encountered outside their native village they are usually perfectly civilized, and at first seem to be followers of
The Ascetic because of their simple lives and eschewing of pleasure and self indulgent behaviors. They are very pragmatic, highly emotionally reserved, and completely focused on their tasking which they recieve from their War Mother, the matriarch of their tribe.
Erengyrians are known to be affiliated with the Eldritch Hunters, a community of demi-gods and their followers who have a common mission to rid the material plane of eldritch. Most erengyrians leave their Spiral Mountain community in the early part of their first half century to pursue their calling as eldritch humters.
Procreation
Erengyrian females are known for their sexual indifference until they decide it is appropriate to mate. They select a father for their child, never an erengyrian male, who they generally choose on the basis of accomplishment, typically warfighting prowess, although historical choices have shown they value intelligence almost as much the selection process. They then become sexually insatiable until they become pregnant, at which time they disappear. It is rare for a male of any race to encounter an erengyrian female with whom he has mated after she is impregnated by him, although the females do re-appear on new missions presumably after they have given birth, but never with their children.
The term Erengyrian (air-in-gear-ee-an) refers to those who live or originate from this village.
