Deadstone
Dance with death, and find glory in promising it to your enemies.
One of the most horrifying materials to stare down the blade of for many, this omen of death is highly sought after by alchemists and desperate swordmasters alike.
Weapons, ammunition, armor, and other equipment made out of deadstone function as if made out of stone except as noted.
Weapons Weapons and ammunition made from deadstone is particularly powerful at ensuring that a creature harmed by such a weapon is guaranteed to be sent to kreaver. Any creature the wielder of a weapon or ammunition made from deadstone hits loses the benefits of regeneration and fast healing and any other forms of healing over time for 1 round. In addition, the corpse of those killed by a deadstone weapon cannot be subject to soul-based necromancy.
Armor Those who wear armor made of deadstone ensure they only perish when it is truly their time to move on. Armor made from deadstone prevents the first negative level the wearer takes each time the wearer of deadstone armor is inflicted with negative levels. In addition, when killed, the corpse the wearer of deadstone armor cannot be subject to soul-based necromancy.
Properties
Physical & Chemical Properties
Deadstone possesses the horrifying properties of preventing a creature's ability to regenerate or rapidly heal its own wounds, the often ensure most creatures hit by it pass away and cannot escape death. However, it also possesses the equally miraculous ability to stave off the most dangerous of undead's supernatural dangers, their dangerous energy drain, weakening if not outright preventing it.
Geology & Geography
The main reason for this material's rarity lies in where it is found, sadly residing only within the realm of kreaver. As the realm is seemingly small and primarily a vast void, the acquisition of this material is incredibly difficult as most creatures do not wish to anger the death god. Though within the realm, the deadstone is quite commonly found.
Origin & Source
For many, it is assumed that deadstone was created from the remains of civilization and those who belonged to said civilizations, degrading away and becoming lost to time, becoming a part of kreaver's realm eventually. However, this legitimacy of this myth has never been properly confirmed and none are likely to question the only being who may have that answer.
History & Usage
Cultural Significance and Usage
Commonly considered an omen of ensured and inevitable death. The use of deadstone can be considered taboo in some places due to the sheer implication of an unavoidable, unforgivable grudge. As such, the material is commonly hushed by many smaller, rural communities, seen as an immense danger that bring bad luck towards those who bear witness to it.
Inversely, among clergymen it is understood as an oath and promise to be victorious against particularly dangerous or notorious enemies of the church and the pact. And that the oathbearer using such a material is not intending to return unless under circumstances of complete and utter victory.
