Mystra

(a.k.a. The Lady of Mysteries, Mother of Magic)

Mystra is supreme goddess of magic, and the one who gave us The Weave: the ties that bind the fundamental forces and allow us to harness arcane magic. Mystra herself is bound to The Weave, and all arcane magic is her power.   Mystra’s primary worshippers are arcane spellcasters, but it’s common for layfolk to thank Mystra when they are saved by–or from–magic.   Thousands of years ago, Mystra was slain by Asmodeus in his plot to become king of the gods. After his defeat, the celestial gods used her divine spark to restore her so that she could bless our world with magic once again.
