Pandemonium
Pandemonium is a place of utter chaos. It is said to be an abandoned Astral Dominion, but its infinite twisting tunnels seem to exist everywhere at once. One could walk through a doorway in Delphi, spend an eternity wandering the labyrinth, and come out in the depths of Tartarus itself.
Geography
Pandemonium is said to be made entirely of rock pierced by innumerable tunnels and caverns large and small. All open space is filled with howling winds that whisk away every word, shout, or scream uttered within the infinite corridors.
There are said to be four layers of Pandemonium, though there is no knowledge on how to navigate between them. Legends ascribe that the great witch Medea had a way of communing with Pandemonium, to glean forbidden secrets carried on its howling wind.
The first layer is called Pandesmos, through which the river Styx of Tartarus flows. Most mortal travelers to Pandesmos return after being driven insane, but knowledge gleaned from their ramblings suggest that this layer is inhabited, though the thought of what sort of creature could thrive in such a place is almost enough to drive one mad alone.
The second layer is Cocytus. The whistling wind of Cocytus is said to carry the cries of anguish and sorrow, and the tunnels are so narrow that the shrill winds are enough to drive insane anyone without proper protection.
Phlegethon is the name of the third layer, and that is about all that is known about it. The layer is said to be unfathomably dark. The rock walls a matte black that does not reflect light.
The final layer, Agathion, has never been visited, at least not by mortals. One can only assume it is the dominion, or perhaps the resting place, of things that should not be awakened.
