The Great Cataclysm was initiated by the arrival of the alien beings known as the Ash Gods. With technological superiority beyond anything humanity could imagine, they devastated the planet Earth in a single day and initiated subsequent ecological and environmental disasters that would render the once hospitable planet a nightmarish hellscape known as Ashrain.
