Magsura

the undying spirit of corruption

The Magsura was the magical demon responsible for the near destruction of the ancient Dal Karchuan and their catastrofic severance from Moksh ke'Jishu and Niryusha.   Sometimes called 'the betrayer' or the 'spirit of corruption', the Magsura was a creature of incredible magical power who somehow lived on after the deliverance despite the absolute destruction of the lashaan and the freeing of the Dal Karchuan. He was so powerful that he merged with the very force of magic and his influence remained in Tamrakaaz. He influences, tempts and corrupts humanity in all manner of ways. From the curse of noeju ke'moajaa that every Dal Karchuan child must suffer, to the corrupting temptation of theory of magical healing.

Reign

The Magsura was born to human parents who, like all humans including the Dal Karchuan, had come to Tamrakaaz (then called Ashvaarya) with Moksh ke'Jishu a thousand years ago. The evil lashaan, who had lured Moksh ke'Jishu to Ashvaarya with their terrible magic in the first place, corrupted the human child when still in his mother's womb, granting him inhuman magical abilities beyond even the imagination of the lashaan themselves.   The human settlement of Landen Village was established in the distant west as the legendary Savarkar'Yata and the 'Chi’yuan' (as the Dal Karchuan were called then) worked to repair the Moksh ke'Jishu so that Niryusha could complete it's holy mission to deliver humanity to Tienwara ya'Shuu. The lashaan however, had a mission of their own: to corrupt humanity and strand them on Ashvaarya as a new race of servants. This was only discovered when a new generation of humanity born on Ashvaarya and they were tainted by the lashaan's magic.   The Magsura was more powerful than even any of the lashaan however, and his hubris and lust for power out shon their plans. Instead of falling in as a tool of the evil creatures, the young man had ambition of his own. Despite years of protection, leadership and dedication to Moksh ke'Jishu, the Magsura eventually led the new generation of the magic-tainted youth in revolt against Savarkar'Yata. Thankfully the ancient technology of Moksh ke'Jishu and the Chi’yuan was so powerful that they resisted magic and kept the Betrayer and his minions at bay.   Until the Magsura created a whole new kind of magic.   In a final campaign against their Chi’yuan protectors, the Magsura cast a spell of unbelievable destruction. In a single moment, every piece of the Moksh ke'Jishu's great technology was destroyed utterly. In the blink of the eye, Savarkar'Yata and his people were rendered utterly powerless and so were overrun with ease. The Chi’yuan were then offered a choice between kneeling to the Magsura and living in a new human kingdom built on horrific magical power, or banishment. Savarkar'Yata and his people, of course, chose the path of strength and piety.   Over the following years and the Chi’yuan's settlement in Akhaal, stories were relayed by lashaan overseers and emessaries from the Seekers After Home. The Magsura and his children expanded their kingdom The West and reigned over humanity, even challenging the lashaan right until the deliverance itself.   Even to this day, the Magsura's spirit works to seduce the Dal Karchuan to magic.

"I offer you untold power and a life of comfort and indolence. All you need do is surrender your will to me, and give up your foolish pursuit of Tienwara ya'Shuu."
