The Greywood Forest is everything that its name implies: bleak. Filled with many dangerous monsters, exiles, and creatures, it is no wonder the fairy tales and horror stories told by bards and mothers alike in nearby Eveningstar often find their setting within this dark forest. Despite its renown dangers, realistically most of the threats lie deep within, nestled against the safety of the Iron Peak Mountains. However, those hunters and gatherers that may stray too far into the woods may find themselves the subject of yet another tragic tale.
Iron Peak Mountains
The Iron Peaks serve as a massive curtain of foreboding, ice-capped mountains bisecting the northern section of Asira. While the mountains are rich in ores and gemstones, the dangers and mysteries that lurk within dissuade most prospectors from delving within. Sacked and utterly demolished by nearly a dozen warring tribes and factions a decade before the Armistice, many historians cite such a devastating loss to be the leading causes of such a treaty and change in thinking. Though the cities have lied in ruins for nearly 800 years, tales abound of movement within the ancient moss-covered cobblestone streets. Some whisper of looters and treasure seekers looking for long lost and buried artifacts; others whisper of the spirits of the dead, both old and fresh, rising in the face of such carnal war and barbarity.
Sylerion Forest
Home to the Hegemony of Asellenor, the Sylerion Forest is just as enchanting and dangerous as its humanoid inhabitants. Home to thousands of species of flora and fauna found seemingly only here, the forest is ripe with rare materials and resources, if only those who ventured in survived long enough to reap the rewards...
