The Emperor is the sovereign ruler of Malvarron, responsible for devising the Empire's laws and policies.
The rank was established in 1331 A.E. after the Vanguard Revolution, when General Augustas Malvarro declared himself the 'Emperor' of a new, and revitalised land.
The current emperor is Lucianno Malvarro, the middle child and second son of Augustas and his wife Queen Mira. Lucianno ascended to power after his father and older brother Aurelius were assassinated in 1381 A.E.

Royalty
Due to his royal status, the Emperor receives treatment befitting his regal position. The citizens of Malvarron hold the Emperor in high regard, considering him to be the saviour of the Elvaran people, although those living in the outer cities of the Empire vehemently disagree.
As with any monarchy in Astaeria, the line of succession is determined by descent, sex and legitimacy, with a bias towards the masculine side of the Malvarro family tree. With the line of succession being the way it is, it is unlikely we will see a woman fulfil the role of emperor anytime soon.
Emperor Lucianno currently resides in the luxurious and well-secured Azure Palace, in the city of Malvarron, surrounded by the riches of the Empire, though there are several royal properties throughout the Empire including in Bridgeport and Greyspire.
The line of succession in the event of Emperor Lucianno’s demise:
. Crown Prince Augustus
. Prince Lucio
. Prince Benito
. Prince Victus Malvarro
. Prince Aurelius Malvarro
. Princess Lucia Malvarro
. Countess Saphira Merron of Ironheim
Advisors
The Emperor's power is absolute. However, if he so chooses, the emperor may consult with members of his
Kamrala, or even with outsider organisations such as the Congregation of the Eternal Mother or The Merchants Federation. Whilst this allows the Emperor to make informed decisions about legislation, the level of outside influence in largely dependent on the Emperor's whims.
Any laws passed or approved by the Emperor are written into the historical record by the scholars of the
Presidium.
Did you know...
Wives of the Emperor hold the title of 'Queen', though currently there is no one with that title.
Lucianno had his second wife, Queen Elora, put to death in 1389 A.E, because of her perceived involvement in the assassination of his father.
He has yet to remarry, though he and Elora have four surviving children.
I'm now so curious whether Elora was innocent or not. I like that you have the line of succession in the article. That's a fun little detail.
