Legend speaks of the bog witch, the swarmlord and keeper of swamp critters who devotes herself to a life of solitude and seclusion in the forlorn threshold of life and death, accompanied by the swarming creatures of nature. A deceivingly old bog witch appearing to age in reverse, Leif Fernbottom attributes her degree of youthfulness to home-chruned toad-butter and the use of sterile sphagnum moss.
Though natives of Astara may more commonly mistake her for a Wood Elf, Leif is born of Eladrin descent, the elves of the fey wild from another timeline. Her fair skin (prevalent among Eladrin) and long luscious locks of earthen brown waves, glimmer even when abounded by fog and amongst the multilayered canopy of the marshland. There is something irregular about her, almost captivating; her allure lies not only in her inexplicable beauty but in her ability to captivate men, women and beasts alike.
Her elegant stance conveys a level of self-assured confidence that demands the utmost respect. Although this confidence is often overridden by her sporadic nature and tendency to veer off the beaten path in search of earthly ingredients for tinctures and trinkets to ornament her homestead. Her foraging satchel is adorned with intricate leather embossing and embellished with vials containing fragments of moss and the remains of sentient beings maintain their position strapped to her left thigh. Cradled in her hand at all times is a longbow forged from the malleable wood of an ancient willow tree, encrusted with lichen and strung with a spider silk string.
