The Council of Trees
Deep within the heart of the Great Western Forest lies the Council of Trees, a benevolent order of Treefolk and representatives from other forest nations, who make decisions on behalf of all those who reside in the Western Forests. The council speaks for the trees, the forests and all peaceful creatures that dwell within. Their primary directive is the preservation and protection of the forests, by any means necessary. That being said, by their own nature, Treefolk are slow to act - often enduring decades of deforestation by human folk, before intervening in any way. However the other followers of the Council, which includes the majority of Firbolg and Wood Elf populations, may act more frequently, charged with defending sacred groves, protecting endangered beasts that cannot fend for themselves, and preserving the natural balance.
Other than Treefolk, the council is also comprised of high ranking members of the Firbolg and Wood Elf nations, and typically they are either Druids or are at least well versed in druidic magic. Every full moon, the council meets in a sacred grove at the heart of the woods, that can only be found by council members or those they've invited. During these meetings, members commune with the forest spirits to seek guidance, using druidic rituals, while they discuss and deliberate on current issues. The council primarily worships Sylvanus, and will pray to him for guidance.
