The Blight

Patron of Destruction

Gulgulmhossa, The Blight, Patron of Destruction

Not many know how Gulgulmhossa came about, but many speculate that Gulgulmhossa was either born alongside Sul and Gaia and has been there since the dawn of time, while others believe Gulgulmhossa was born of Anilvim’s hunger during the dark feast when Anilvim devoured Gaia. Gulgulmhossa is known to want only one thing: Destruction. It cannot create something from nothing like the other Patrons, so it is said that each Yugoloth in existence is born from Gulgulmhossa ripping a part of itself off so that it may have another mouth to feast from. Many believe that if Gulgulmhossa were to ever devour the universes and the other patrons it would simply eat itself and end all things. For this reason, Gulgulmhossa is a Patron few would ever worship. In most cultures and lands on Asterra it is forbidden to worship it, and worshiping it generally leads to execution.   Some ancient texts speak of seeing Gulgulmhossa in their dreams, a great horrific and disgusting monstrosity eternally ripping itself to shreds, the scraps becoming the Yugoloth that curse and disease everything they touch. Many who see such things often never wake up the same person, or so many claim. Something inside them changes, as if seeing Gulgulmhossa can corrupt you even in your dreams.
