The Patrons

Divine Origins

First there were two beings, Sul and Gaia, the Ethereal and the Corporeal. These divine beings created numerous powers and gave life to each of them, dubbing them the patrons that would borrow from their infinite power.   The first fact about the patrons that one should know is the difference between Gaian(Material) and Sulian(Incorporeal) Patrons. By nature most of the Sulian Patrons are lost or go unnoticed by mortal kind, their very nature is hard to pinpoint and they are formed of unorthodox values. The two best known Sulian Patrons are Coras and Anilvim. Sulian Patrons are known for their affinity and control over the conceptual. They deal more in theory than solidity, giving them access to a wider selection of powers from Sul. This is why Coras and Anilvim govern the realms of Law and Chaos respectively. This is also why Sulian patrons are generally more powerful than Gaian patrons.   Gaian Patrons are diverse and vast, they hold control over material concepts. They are seen as governors of more concrete facts and truths, such as Life and Death. Because of this, the Gaian Patrons are more commonly recognized by mortals and are much easier to interact with. Due to their connection with Gaia, they are also far more capable of interacting with Mortalkind, and save for one Sulian Patron in particular, communicate much more often with their followers. The known Gaian Patrons are far weaker than their Sulian counterparts however, and this may be because of the death of Gaia itself eons ago. As Patrons draw much of their power from their creators it is no wonder why the Gaian Patrons appear much weaker than the Sulian ones.
