Astral Raiders

The Astral Raiders are a faction of beings native to the Astral Plane who travel the Astral Sea wresting resources from less advanced societies.

Raiders, despite the unflattering name they've earned for themselves among the other denizens of the cosmos, don't see themselves as such. A member of the average crew would claim their way of life is more akin to that of a farmer, staking a claim to territory and waiting for it to bear fruit. This notion could be further supported by the fact that the raiders tend to lay down probe sites on worlds that have potential, allowing them to take samples of the planet and its denizens to see if the realm has "ripened" into something worth claiming. It was through such a site (Byszyl) that the Raiders made themselves known to Astion.
