Blackrun River

The Blackrun is a fairly large river, finding its source up in the Trenzyn mountains, and making its way down to the Western Sea, near the inlet of Savage Bay.
For most of its distance south of Shah-Halla, the Blackrun stretches at least 100 feet across and several dozen feet deep.
Midway to the sea is Crystal Lake, nearly a mile wide and just as deep.
Recently, there have been reports of a sea monster making its way up the river. This is generally considered to be bullshit. Other critters of note include alligators, giant gar, and various fishes.

River Politics

• River Politics are very similar to sea politics, but at a smaller scale.
• Everyone knows everyone, so everything is a bit more personal.
• River folk don't appreciate sea or land folk getting involved in their business.

Well known river folk

• Seabeard the Pirate and his crew are well known for their drunken binges
• Peggy is Seabeard's former lover and first mate, and also a whore. They broke up after he walked in on her with literally the entire crew. Nowadays she runs a slightly more legitimate shipping business.
• Fannybaws is a fearsome pirate who was the scourge of the river. He hasn't been seen in some time, however, after going searching for a mythical artifact known as the 'Crystal Coconut.'

Under the River

• Due to the intricacies of River Politics, many ships litter the bottom of the river. Most of them still have their loot on board.
• The lost city of Atlantis is rumored to be at the bottom of Crystal Lake.
• Every summer, the 17th Battalion is brought to Crystal Lake for wilderness exercises. Most make it home.
