Nalmorra (Nal-More-Uh)

Nalmorra is the primary center of magical instruction and research for the United Cities and humans in particular.   Located in Aliastra, where magic was rediscovered 200 years ago. Due to the explosive nature of that rediscovery, the town even to this day gives the school a wide berth; there is roughly a half mile of emptiness all around the school, despite Aliastra growing to fully surround it. Visible for miles around even before you can see the city, is the Ruby Tower, which rises nearly 600 feet in the center of Nalmorra.

Entering the School

The only road to Nalmorra is from the market in Aliastra, through Incineration Park, a well-kept wooded area open to the public. Surrounding the school is a stone wall, with a single set of gates. On either side of the gates is a suit of resplendent Adamantine armor.   The school itself is made up of three buildings: on the eastern side of the campus is the dormitory, where the students and staff live. On the western side is the school itself, all the classrooms and study labs. In the basement of the school is the Cafeteria, where magical services are offered to the public. Usually, it is cheaper than 'market value' of spells, as it is intended as a way for students to practice their craft without bankrupting the school.   On the north side of the courtyard is the Ruby Tower, the center of the magical world.

The Ruby Tower

The aptly named Ruby Tower was the first of the fourteen Gem Towers. Though it is made of stone, due to many layers of magical wards and spells, it almost appears to actually be made out of rubies. It was on this spot, over 200 years ago, that John Crowne discovered the secrets of magic.    1-6: Simpler, less interesting research - teleportation, divination, and illusion. These floors are open to the public, and where the wizards try to bore inspectors from the various City governments so they won't pry further.    7-10: The ruby floors, dedicated to the study of fire magic.    11: The offices of the Ruby Magus and the ArchMagus   Only the most dedicated of wizards may, with authorization, visit the floors above this.    12-13: Rituals and summoning magic.   14: Interplanar travel   15: War magic   16: Enchantment
