Gruumsh

The One-Eyed God

Gruumsh is the evil god of Tempest and War in the Astorian Pantheon. He is the unblinking god of destruction who unleashes savage multitudes against outposts of civilization. He is worshiped by orcs and half-orcs and even some of the other savage humanoid races as well.

Gruumsh is a god of conquest, driving his savage multitudes to expand their power by whatever brutal means they wished. His shamans advise chiefs and warmongers to raid, kill, and conquer in his name. Gruumsh lords over the realm of Nishrek, in Avalas, where he wages constant war with Bane for dominion.

When he appears before his worshipers, Gruumsh takes the form of an enormous one-eyed orc, with massive tusks and spiky protrusions on his shoulders and torso. Though his shamans and worshipers maintain that their god was born with one eye, in truth he lost his left eye in combat with Corellon. The two remain the bitterest of enemies. Gruumsh is also bitter enemies with the Drow goddess Lolth, after a plan between the pair of deities to assassinate Corellon failed.

Gruumsh orders his worshipers to do the following:

• Gather and breed, and your numbers shall flourish
• Rise up in hordes and seize that which is rightfully yours
• Raid. Kill. Conquer.
