Alai
✹ • • •. ) ⦿.... ⦾.. ◦ ◦
The dying K0IV-type star designated Delta Eridani was once the sun of the rimor homeworld Volkh, now a blistering wasteland doomed by the expansion of its sun. Those few brave souls who still inhabit the outer planets of the system still call the star by the name their ancestors gave it: Alai. Once host to eight planets, the star's expansion has brought that count down to six. Alai has not served as the rimor capital system for millennia, the honor having been shifted to the Amukan system even before the abandonment of Volkh.
Astrography
Location
Alai is far from Sol and the core of known space, almost 30 lightyears distant in the southern celestial hemisphere. Its closest neighbor is the red dwarf Shukaret at 2.5 lightyears. Alai has jump links to other systems, but these are not especially well-traveled anymore: Shukaret, LHS 194, Kappa Ceti, LTT 1445, EP Eridani, Gliese 173, and most prominently Amukan.Structure
The system contains six planets in orbit of the subgiant Alai, though as the star transitions into its giant phase it will consume Natu, Athon, and likely Volkh. Only the planets beyond the Tekra Belt are inhabited at all, and even at that, they are inhabited sparingly. SYSTEM STRUCTUREAlai (Delta Eridani)

Ecology
Alai once nurtured the volkhigenids to their spacefaring maturation, but the only parts of this genesis group that remain in the system are the artificially transplanted biospheres of Kenshet and Tiartu.Archive Data
