September 2024: Burnout Off The Starboard Bow
We're getting somewhere, but possibly at a cost. I've managed to get a few big things checked off my list in the last month, but lately I've sort of been feeling the vague malaise that heralds creative burnout. I've been trying my best to practice self care to stave it off, but we'll have to see how well that works. I should also mention that August 20th was the seventh anniversary of Astra Planeta in its current form! That was the day I first downloaded Space Engine on a friend's recommendation, and began to dream up a future for humanity among the nearby stars. While I didn't do anything for this date, I want to celebrate the anniversary of its first incarnation, November 6th. I'd welcome any ideas you have!
Completed Missions
- Replaced the world master map image at long last, though the new image is still incomplete and subject to further updates
- Overhauled Sapience, finally
- Added a new section to celestial body article sidebars which displays the location's environmental hazards. This is the final stage of my variable experiment!
Incomplete Missions
- Started a new draft article (I ought to finish one someday) about a unique organism
- About halfway through reformatting all pins on the master map
- Continued work on the star systems planning document
Looking Ahead
- Technoculture will be overhauled, completing the primer article updates
- Progress may continue on the star map overhaul
- Progress may continue on updating the human timeline
Happy Seventh anniversary!!
Thanks! The "official" anniversary in November will actually mark ten years since the first seeds of the setting were planted. I want to do something special but I'm not sure what yet!
