Ziirin-Vniir

The red dwarf binary system known to humans as Gliese 54 is called Ziirin-Vniir in Vurrm and is the central axis of the Nzmarri Unity. The slightly brighter of the two, Ziirin, is the home sun of the ziirpu homeworld Viirvv. Both gravity wells in the system are filled with habitats of varying shapes and sizes, most notably the massive, ten-kilometer-wide "halo" rings.

Astrography

Location

The Ziirin-Vniir system is located deep in the southern celestial hemisphere relative to Sol, nearly 27 lightyears from the core of known space. Its closest system is Zeta Tucanae at 3.1 lightyears, but it only has jump links to four systems: Zeta Tucanae, Hmn Çelyth, P Eridani, and Gliese 877.

Structure

The system holds just five planets in total: Viirvv and Mzan around Ziirin; Zvirri, Jiirrik, and Vvimn around Vniir. Ziirin also bears a relatively dense and metal-rich debris disk between its two worlds, which the ziirpu have thoroughly populated with habitats and infrastructure.   SYSTEM OUTLINE

Ecology

The Ziirin system is the abiogenetic origin point of Viirvvigenid organisms, a rather rare genesis group suited for life on worlds with red dwarf suns like Ziirin.

Reality Check

The real Gliese 54 system has no confirmed planets or planet candidates. In fact, Gl 54 is not well-studied, and even the age of the component stars are unknown.
