The backbone of one of the most impressive logistical systems in the galaxy, built to sustain arguably the single most powerful organisation in the Galaxy of Astraesto, the Federation Interstellar Navy

The Echo Class Naval Supply Ship is the principal - and for the most part only, class of Supply Ship for the Federation Interstellar Navy. Designed and originally built by Jaydei Aerospace Industries & Manufacturing in 4753AC, the class was designed to replace the aging Delta Class Naval Supply Ship, also built by the Jaydei Shipyards. Since its original conception and construction, the ship is found nearly universally in all Federation aligned Interstellar units, including the many Sector and System Fleets of the Interstellar Navy. Many ships of the class have also been built by Envis Shipyards, as well as other non-affiliated shipbuilding organisations.
The ship can carry a large assortment of cargo and cargo types, and can also be used as a troop transport should the need ever arise. As its intended use is as a supply ship, however, no vessels of the class are significantly armed, with only minor kinetic weapons located on the ship's hull. The number of Supply Ships in any Federation Fleet varies dramatically, with the number increasing the further the Fleet operates from any major planet
