Nature Spirits
Nature Spirits are unique and powerful entities that are extensions of nature itself, manifesting in areas of powerful primal magic. They have a symbiotic relationship with the natural world around them, drawing strength from the land and, in turn, feeding, refreshing and nurturing the world. They are split into three distinct groups; lesser, greater and primal spirits.
Lesser Spirits are the smallest and weakest of all nature spirits, but can manifest almost anywhere across the world. They include Elemental Wisps and Chwingas.
Greater Spirits are large and powerful nature spirits, but can only manifest in areas of strong primal magic. They include Dryads and Nymphs.
Primal Spirits are the greatest and most powerful of nature spirits, and are pure manifestations of the aspects of nature. They can only manifest in areas of extremely powerful primal magic, and most often as the result of a summoning by a group of Druids. They include Magnar the Grey, Gorthok the Thunder Boar, and Ouroboros the World Serpent.
Amarok the White Wolf is depicted as a colossal white wolf with teeth of ice, and whose howl summons blizzards. He is said to be the guardian of the tundra and father of all winter wolves.
Arlian the Jungle Lynx is the spirit and guardian of the jungles and creator of the Tabaxi. Depicted as a tremendous, emerald lynx, Arlian is said to stalk the jungle underbrush and slaughter any tresspassers.
Felmir the Cinder Stag is depicted as a large, graceful stag with dark fur and antlers like burning branches. He is the embodiment of wildfires, and represents the natural cycle of life, death and rebirth.
Gorthok the Thunder Boar is depicted as a black boar the size of an elephant with crackling electricity leaping between its tusks. He is the embodiemnt of storms, lightning and thunder, and represents the destructive force of nature. He is the enemy of Magnar the Grey.
Magnar the Grey is a colossal bear spirit depicted with moss and trees growing from his back. He is said to be the guardian of the forests and all life within them. Despite his ferocious appearance, he is supposedly kindhearted and gentle, representing the benevolence of nature. He is also the enemy of Gorthok the Thunder Boar.
Nobanion the Golden Mane is depicted as a tremendous lion with a mane of flowing golden light. He is said to be the guardian of the savannas, and embodies the hunt.
Largest and most powerful of the nature spirits, Ouroboros the World Serpent is a colossal serpent that is said to dwell at the bottom of the ocean, encircling the entire world in a protective embrace. He is seen as the embodiment of the very world itself, and that to disturb his slumber would be to invite disaster to Asylum.

Remnis the Eagle is depicted as a shining silver eagle whose beating wings create the winds that flow around the world. She is said to represent the freedom of the natural world.
Darrgis the Hidden is a secretive and reclusive spirit that takes the form of a dragon-like serpent. He is the embodiment of mist, fog & other such phenomena.
Sekolah the Starving is a tremendous shark spirit and the spirit of the ocean. He is depicted as frail and slender, and is said to represent unending hunger. He is worshipped by the Sahuagin as a God, who believe it is their divine duty to feed all ocean life to the ravenous hunger of Sekolah.
Symbiotic Protectors
Many nature spirits manifest as small beasts, though often with some distinguishing features that denote their nature. Things like glowing eyes, an ethereal appearance, or magical runes marking their bodies. These beast-like spirits are referred to as Beastial Spirits, and are the most common types of Nature Spirits, though there are other kinds of more particular nature spirits, like Dryads, Nymphs or Chwingas. When a nature spirit manifests, it forms a symbiotic link with whatever concentration of magic created it. For example, an ancient, towering tree would hold vast quantities of primal magic, and could, one day, manifest a nature spirit linked to it. Similar things can happen in lakes, mountains, or even whole forests. After manifesting, most nature spirits will do anything to protect what created them, though their methods for doing so vary from spirit to spirit. This symbiotic relationship can be both a boon and a curse, however; harming a nature spirit will often harm the magic that created it, and damaging a tree or poisoning a lake would do the same to any nature spirit linked to it.A Delicate Balance
Nature spirits have a perculiar nature; they are comprised of both a good and evil aspect which can alternatively dominate the spirit, causing wild swings in alignment, mood and actions. Spirits can routinely switch between good and evil based on the seasons, certain natural events, or even just based on their emotions. For example, a volcano erupting can cause Oreads in the area to change to an evil alignment, as their evil aspect takes them over in response to the destruction wrought by the volcano. Evil aspected spirits are far more dangerous, aggressive and territorial than good aspected ones. Spirits of opposite alignments may even come into conflict with each other as their alignments shift. Furthermore, nature spirits are highly sensitive to the emotions of creatures around them, which can make them even more volatile.Primal Spirits
Primal Spirits are the most powerful of nature spirits, but also the rarest. They each embody an aspect of the natural world, and can only manifest during times where the primal magic of an area peaks. They can also be summoned by secretive rituals closely guarded by Druidic circles. Like other nature spirits, the primal spirits have a twin nature, but as a result of their power, they are far more dangerous and destructive when overcome by their evil aspect.
