Words of Creation

The Words of Creation are fragments of an ancient language so powerful and incomprehensible it is believed to have originated from before the existence of Asylum itself. The Words are merely individual pieces of this language, but retain so much power that simply speaking the word aloud is enough to invoke tremendous cosmic powers, rippling through the Weave to create disastrously powerful magic. However, knowledge of even a single Word of Creation is said to cause irreparable damage to the mind of a mortal, and that even the strongest of mortals is incapable of comprehending more than three or four of the Words, lest their mind be incinerated by the pure cosmic power of the Words. The Words of Power have been lost over time, with none but the most ancient and primordial creatures remembering them. Over the millennia, they have been adapted into Power Words and Runes, two facets of magic that serve to grant a modicum of the Words of Creations power to mortals. Furthermore, True Names are believed to be a type of Words of Creation.
