Historical Context

Rex first appeared in Barovia only a few months before he met Dr. Rudolph van Richten who was exporing the ruins he had taken up refuge in. Rex could feel the power of a dragon that once sat in the ruin, and that comforted Rex. After finding Rex, Dr. Rudolph and his assistant, a Kenko named Kinky took Rex in, informing him that the great vampire Strahd von Zoravich had killed the dragon that inhabited the ruins many years ago according to local legends.
After 7 months of gathering information in various towns Rex and Kinky met the Mist Cursed and quickly entered their company and began gathering information on them and their ongoins, reporting back to Dr. Rudolph when the could. Convinced that they where not evil people, the 3 still decided on caution and waited several months before realing that they where allies to the party who had been helping in shadow during that time.
Rex would go on to join the Mist Cursed upon the death of Dr. Rudolph to Strahd, while Kinky took over a local hag nest at the old windmill in the lands, setting up a normal bakery. Rex would be with the Mist Cursed when they successfully freed the Wizards of the Wines, as well as spearheading an attack on a ritual to bring a giant effigy of Strahd to life by druids and wildfolk.
Rex would even go on to see the Battle of Vallaki, and would be the one responsible for ultimatlely setting off the magical batteries housed inside Baba Lysaga's walking hut. After this Rex would join the Mist Cursed in their final assault on Strahd and his castle, along with other names like Mordenkainen and Ezmerelda d’Avenir. Ultimately successful in their quest, Rex would return to Asyur with Mordenkainen and the two would found a town somewhere out in the Themmit Desert near Thurdarth, using the legendary Sunsword to make their claim. Eventually Mordenkainen would set off to Carcino wishing to see this realms lands before he one day decided to return back to his home world. Rex would remain in his town ruling it as a would be king.
