sI: Verbobonc
General Summary
3 mercenaries from the local fighter's guild decided to strike it right by heading south to a prosperous trade town, hoping to find adventure, treasure, and glory! These 3 brave men were named Kiln Shadowquick, Teg, and Pip.
Just outside of Verbobonc the group met a Gnome historian named Bitty Gnomebody, who just so happened to also be starting his journey southward to Hommlet to meet a local historian and magic-user Burne.
The First Battle and the Death of Teg
Along the well-traveled high road, the group passed many a trader and farmer. As well as coming across a group of bandits hiding out in an abandoned trading post! Ambushed, the group turned around and quickly reformed, but growing greedy after the first bandit kill, Teg the Druid decided to break formation and move in for the kill on the two remaining bandits at low health. However, the rest of the party decided in the heat of battle to remain where they were, terrified, as they watched Teg get flanked by the two bandits, and cut down by their scimitars.Aftermath and the Time-Lost Cleric
With the death of Teg and the looting of the 3 bandits complete, the group investigated the abandoned trading post they inhabited. Finding nothing but old food and worthless hays for beds, the group left saddened with no loot and the recent death of a mercenary companion and friend. It was at this point that Pip noticed a humanoid under vines and dirt beside the structure, and uncovering him, found the man to be alive! Bringing him to consciousness, it was here that Bitty noticed that the man wore armor of ages past, long long past, and recommended against taking the amnesia-stricken John Doe with them, as it could very well be a trap, despite the authenticity of the man's armor. Upon hearing this he remembered his name and his last moments alive. He was Eduardo Mangoseed, a guard of a keep of the nearby area that was attacked by a Dragon, and in the subsequent battle and chaos, Eduardo was killed, struck by a burning log. It was at this point that Bitty and the Mercenaries grew concerned for the mental state of the man, as true dragons haven't been seen for nearly 10,000 years. And to make matters worse, Eduardo seemed to be prone to knowledge about the current sun god Pelo, information impossible for him to know if he truly was from the time of the First Republic.Rewards Granted
