The Six Kingdoms
That portion of the Dreamlands which encompasses the Kingdoms of Skai, Ilek-Vad, Ooth-Nargai & Serranian, Oukranos, the Khalifate of Cuppar-Nombo, and the Principalities of Kled. The Six Kingdoms are the least isolated and remote parts of the Dreamlands, and their cities are populated primarily by humans.
Some of the survivors of Golthoth still roam throughout the Six Kingdoms. They are known as the Dark Wanderers, a name which comes not from their deeds, but from the cast of their complexion. These folk wander from town to town and village to village and make their livings as do the gypsies of the Waking World. They are lead by their high priest who wears a curious headdress with two horns with a golden disk between them. When they come to town in their brightly painted wagons, it is as if a fair has come. The wanderers tell fortunes and stories, dance and sing, and make the lives of those they touch a little lighter for a time. Being direct descendants of the people of Golthoth, they still revere their strange animal-headed gods. Woe to any who harm or cheat these Dark Wonderers, for their sleeping gods can easily be awakened and they have much power. It is said that these folk had no small part in Ulthar's passing of its singular law against the slaying of cats. True or not, the Dark Wanderers will not travel to Ulthar, and will not say why to any man outside of their own.
