Angus

Angus was sentient lute rescued from the basement of The Nine Fingers Gang 's illegal casino. Angus claimed to be the soul of a halfling bard trapped in a musical instrument, although how his soul became trapped is something he refused to talk about.
Even as a sentient lute Angus enjoyed performing, and specialized in bawdy drinking songs and heroic power ballads. He was  always up for a fight and would goad his owner toward violence, or at the very least, some clever insults. Thunder magic crackled through Angus's body; in a fight his wielder could channel this magic to cast Thunderwave or paralyze someone with a blow to the head.
Angus insisted that in order to recharge he needs drinks between fights, and direced his owner pour alcohol directly into his sound hole. Where the alcohol goes is anyone's guess, but Angus definitely became more ornery after he tied a few off.
While visiting Orren Wren's shop in Nikea, the Scions discovered Angus is actually a prototype - there are several "improved" versions for sale in Orren's shop. Angus recognized Orren Wren as the person who entrapped his soul and encourages the party to kill the artificer; he doesn't want anybody else to suffer a similar fate.
After the Scions defeated Orren Wren Angus volunteered to sacrifice himself in order to destroy Orren's soul transfer equipment. He asks that Billy Bob sing his songs and tell his story across the lands before activating himself. His power overloaded the soul transfer equipment and reduced Angus to a small pile of ash; a noble end to a loyal friend.
