Aggressive Negotiations

Together with the Keshites, Darien and Smithy prepare to fight off the attacking grung. Several of the grung begin firing at them with heavy ballista-like weapons while Garbloo himself mounts a massive frog and enters the battle. The Peacekeepers suffer heavy losses with all but Darmir falling in battle, but Smithy is able to dispatch Garbloo with a heavy hit from a guiding bolt.
In the aftermath, Darien and Smithy are rewarded by the newly-reinstated Chief Woog Woog with several of Garbloo's plundered treasures including a Lamp of Auras. After taking some time to tend to their wounds, the pair start heading back to Kesh alongside Darmir and the bodies of the fallen Peacekeepers. Along the way, Darien again tries to ask Darmir about Weller's sealant but is unsuccessful. He uses the Lamp of Auras to find that the dwarf was under some sort of an enchantment spell.
Upon returning to Kesh in the evening, the group heads to Oldfort Plaza to give the Peacekeepers a proper burial. While there, Darien and Smithy make contact with Xaroxes Oldcedar and persuade him to dispel the enchantment on Darmir. Darmir is able to remember having his memory modified. He remembers being approached by an attractive half-elven woman in the Crow and Hornet. She was blonde with dark green eyes, heavy burn scars on her left cheek. She got him drunk, drugged him, and got him to reveal the secret of Weller's sealant before modifying his memory. Darien recognizes this woman as Sofina Areni, a top level agent in Hildonian intelligence.
Xaroxes realizes that he has become privy to information he shouldn't, and modifies his own memory to forget the past hour. Darmir heads to meet his superior and report on the events with the grung while Darien and Smithy head to Port of Call for the night.
