Harold Merchantel

"Professor" Harold Merchantel is a traveling salesman, con artist, and owner and proprietor of Professor Merchantel's Cart of Curiosities. He is the father of Precision Merchantel.
Harold projects an air of confidence but has been shown to be a less-than-shrewd businessman. At some point he took out a short-term loan of 400 gold crowns from a loan shark in Kassleg named Irnthi Valorum, with the intent of making a quick fortune off of an elixir of his own creation that he referred to as "basilisk oil." However, the ointment did not sell as quickly as he would have hoped and soon Harold found himself massively indebted to Valorum; the astronomical interest rate had increased the debt to over 3000 crowns by the time Precision encountered him in Roselawn.
When Precision found herself paralyzed by chuul venom in Roselawn, Erevan purchased an elixir from Harold in the town market without realizing his connection to Precision. She later encountered him in town and learned of his situation with Valorum. Harold asked Precision to handle the matter if possible, but warned her to be careful as Valorum was connected to the Tracery. He soon left the city, but not before giving Precision several healing potions. Precision would later aggressively erase her father's debt to the Tracery when she visited Kassleg.
