Mute Bob

Mute Bob is a male tiefling pirate and sailor who serves as the first mate of the Mangy Dog under Anton von Rheintach. Mute Bob's actual name was eventually revealed to be Qurahar, but he confessed that he actually preferred the nickname given to him by Anton.
Like all others in the Ajokai Empire Qurahar was trained from birth to join the military. However, he became part of a growing number of second- and third-generation Pagalian tieflings to question the divinity of the enigmatic Obsidian Empress. When overheard speaking out against her at a bar Quarahar was imprisoned, and his tongue was removed to prevent further dissent. He was pressed into service as a chained oarsman aboard a war-galley, where he remained for six months until the ship was capsized in a storm. Somehow managing to survive, he was spotted among the flotsam by the Jairhic trading vessel Saskoom and taken aboard as a prisoner. He soon formed a friendship with the ship's quartermaster Anton von Rheintach, who dubbed him Mute Bob and convinced the captain to grant his freedom.
As Anton rose through the ranks of the Jairhic militia he took Bob with him, and Bob remained loyal after Anton's desertion following the disastrous sinking of the ill-fated Fire Fleet.
Mute Bob was killed in Meicor by an eldritch abomination created by the insane Gilraine Glowkindle, while helping Anton's new allies Grom and Ra'zon. Through the use of bloodrune magic Grom was able to resurrect Bob, and in the process restored his tongue. It was at this point that Anton realized Bob's voice was annoying, and limited him to 25 words a day.
Mute Bob fought alongside Anton in the Second Battle of Crimsonhold, and proved instrumental in helping to take the Hildonian ship-of-the-line Kingfisher.
