Jewels of the Eforoi
Long ago, before the The Great Darkening, when the evil K'Thonim ruled the world reaping the very T'Shole from people. Their monstrous appointed overseers, the The Eforoi, were each gifted with jewelry whose size and magical powers varied according to their station.
The magical powers varied according to what the Eforos did, an administrator might have been given increased intelligence, a warrior would have been given increased strength, and so on. The higher the rank the Eforos the bigger the jewelry. Of course, the power of the K'Thonim relied upon the harvesting of T'Shole from the native population. This is what the Eforoi are most remembered for, taking what they wanted from their own people and helping the K'Thonim kill untold generations.
It was common knowledge amongst the Eloroi that the gems on their jewelry were created from T'shole. What they didn't know was that these same gems connected to the The Plekenergia allowing them to draw power, but also allowing any K'Thonim to enter their mind. Once inside, a K'Thonim has access to their memories, plans, and intentions. They could plant thoughts into their head, or commands, or communicate with them as well. This gave the Eforoi the sense that the K'Thonim were gods.
When the The Great Darkening came, huge numbers of the Eforoi died because of their connection to the Plekenergia. The jewelry only functioned a short time after that on stored charges, but still retained the ability for the K'Thonim that lived to channel through it, potentially literally embodying themselves in the Eforoi
Today, when adventurers find one of the Jewels for Eforoi there is only a 10% chance that it has any remaining charge left in it. If they dare use it at all.
The The Antikathonum work hard to find and destroy every Jewel of the Eforoi they can get their hands on. Sadly they have competition in the form of already established cults, as well as the Witch Hunters of Saxony, neither of which destroy the Jewels at all.
My friends, tonight as I cuddle my children in thier sleep, I will myself sleep better for my task tonight was to hunt and destroy a Jewel of the Eforoi. My task was successful, and as usual the arrogant would-be cult leader underestimated me. I sleep more securely knowing my children live in a world that is a little more free from evil. Mission #44-2Lamba complete.
