Library of Londinium
Few places in the world hold as high a reputation of being a place of higher learning and knowledge as the Library of Londinium. It has several campuses sprawled through the city of Londinium and the surrounding region. Each campus functions in a different role for the larger institution. While some campuses function as public libraries, others hold classes and others function as museums to amaze the populace and impress upon them the vitality of the Kingdom of Saxony.
A large part is funded by private donations and the Crown of Saxony. The royal family and the nobility of Saxony are aware of the important role that it plays in the national interests. Not merely producing wizards, but educating people for positions throughout the land. Lawyers, accountants, clerics, and military leaders, are drawn from this world-renowned institution. In turn, the institution draws from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge producing professors, librarians, and curators for the campuses themselves.
The rivalry between the Library of Londinium and Howth University in Eire is almost as famous as the institutions themselves. While the Library of Londinium has deeper pockets for financing research expeditions, Howth University seems to be able to keep up. Both institutions have amazing libraries and artifact collections that continue to grow in this era of exploration. This rivalry sometimes breaks into loud arguments between scholars of the institutions, or even the occasional fistfight.
