Village of the Boday Clan

The newly discovered Boday clan and its village capital are perfect examples of vast swathes of undiscovered land in Atlantica. The Boday clan are a tribe of S'soran people that have an advanced culture and a strong sense of right and wrong. They claim that they have already reached and surpassed the level of technology that the people of Europa have. They also claim that they chose not to use it because it was more trouble than it was worth. They like the lives that they live, and indeed there is little evidence to the contrary.   The Boday village is the crossroads of several canals and bayous. The village uses the canals to divide itself in to quarters, the Male Quarter, the Female Quarter, the Common Quarter, and the Hatchery. The whole thing is surrounded by a common wall, with large chain nets covering the four canal entrances. The male and female quarters are exclusively for that sex. Even guests must abide by these rules. The Hatchery is only for the women and is carefully guarded by the females. Finally, the common area is the only place that both sexes may mingle freely and worship in the temple. The Boday clan believe (as many other S'Soran clans do) that loyalty and love belong to the clan and not merely to one's own personal hatchery. This chosen way of life works for the Boday because the S'Soran species are egg layers and do not form lifelong mating bonds outside of a single mating season.   The village uses the canals to connect to larger waterways, from here they fish and trade with other villages. They have strong ties to other S'Soran villages, but these villages are independent and do not wield a lot of political or military clout in the region.

Village of the Boday Clan
"The village is beautiful and well maintained, but they are very serious about the seperation of the living quarters of the sexes.  One of our expedition made the mistake of wandering up the bridge to the Female quarter and was warned that if he did it again he would be asked to leave or worse.  Of course the women of our expedition abided by the same rules."   ~Sarnen Elefas, Ships Mage of the Aegis
