Traylam Academy
Traylam Academy has been training mercenaries, scholars, and adventurers for 400 years. They accept applicants of all races from all corners of the empire, but they do not accept every applicant, sometimes for reasons known only to the leadership of the school. Graduating can take years, depending on how much experience new students possess. The goal of many of these students is the highest honor of the Academy: to be selected to join The Arbiters, respected peacekeepers and mercenaries headquartered in the Academy itself. Other students are here out of cultural responsibility, as many subcultures in the empire send youths here as a right of passage before they may join their militias or participate in politics. Other subcultures send troublemakers here as a sort of reform school.
The school currently has around 500 students, with 120 staff members and several administrators, all answering to the headmaster: Braccus. There are also typically a number of Arbiters present, numbering anywhere from 5 to 200 depending on various factors. Over the last few hundred years, a modest village called Traylam Village has sprung up around the Academy to house the many families of staff, and even retired Arbiters and the like.
