First battle of May
The Conflict
Prelude
After their victory, the orcs had been receiving more troops while building crude forts and fortifications as well as simple siege engines such as catapults and battering rams. Chartland had been gathering forces near it's western most city of Herbert. Baroness Mary Kipper had arrived to directly lead her forces.
Deployment
The orcs began moving towards the east in the direction of the city of Herbert.
Scouts of Chartland saw this and informed the army that was slowly assembling near the city of Herbert.
The forces of Chartland moved inside the city to use the walls and towers to their advantage. They then waited for the orcs to arrive.
Instead of laying siege to the city, the orcs of Druch and Khrok immediately launched an assault using their siege engines.

Conditions
It was a partly cloudy day.
The Engagement
The orcs attacked using their catapults to damage the towers and walls of the city while using its battering rams to break the gates open.
The forces of Chartland used their mounted ballistae and catapults to damage some battering rams and to kill the orcish troops.
Eventually the orcs managed to break through 2 of the gates the city has.
The forces of Chartland held their ground at the gates for a while before slowly being whittled down by the constant stream of orcish infantry.
The forces of Chartland seeing that they were beginning to lose took some of their forces to evacuate the citizens. The majority of the citizens managed to escape but the orcs managed to kill the soldiers of Chartland on the walls and drive the rest that were defending the streets to flee.
A number of citizens didn't have time to escape and were slaughtered by the orcs. The orcs began razing the city, burning it down and killing any survivors that hadn't managed to escape yet.
Only Baroness Mary Kipper, some of her lords and a small number of soldiers managed to escape.
The forces of Chartland seeing that they were beginning to lose took some of their forces to evacuate the citizens. The majority of the citizens managed to escape but the orcs managed to kill the soldiers of Chartland on the walls and drive the rest that were defending the streets to flee.

Outcome
The orcs utterly defeated Chartland.

The orcs razed the city, burning it to the ground and killing any survivors left in the city.
