Yotmumli is a member of the Rhunki (rune-smiths), a clan which has slowly been dwindling away over the last few hundred years.

Before being sentenced to serve as a member of the Dum Doki for 60 years, he used to work as a miner in Kazad Grung.

The crime he committed for this sentence is he killed a member of the Candle-Fury clan, a clan with a lot of connections and high ranking members in society.
One night when drinking in the tavern he got into an argument about whos beard is more impressive, the dwarf from the Candle-Fury clan made the mistake of deeply insulting him, calling him a Skruff which means "Scrawny beard" (considered a terrible insult). A blind drunk rage overcame Yotmumli, he took his stone tankard and smashed it over the head of the Candle-Fury dwarf, killing him instantly. This happened in the year 996.
After informing the King about various rune magic caches his sentence was reduced and then dissolved after the Dum Doki were attacked.
He now works in the runesmith workshop of his family in Kazad Kol , now that the King wants rune magic to be revived.
