Aur

A long time ago, before the Era of the Starfall, the Azlanti were lifted out of the mud and into a golden age by the Aboleth to serve as intelligent slaves. Over time, the advanced civilization forgot of their humble beginnings as servants of the Aboleth and began to spurn them. The Aboleth, angered by the impudence of humanity, reached out into the dark vastness beyond their warm, wet home to select an asteroid as the hammer of their retribution.
This is where our story diverts. While many of the peoples of Golarion readied themselves for the Starfall in different ways, the Azlanti felt it was time to leave their old masters in a more permanent way. They began exploring the Dark Tapestry for realms beyond for a suitable seat for a new Star Empire of Azlanti. They constructed a great series of one way portals. These portals would be used to transport the Azlanti off planet into a new solar system, on the surface of a new habitable world. This planet would be known as Aurea, a small system with two suns and six planets. When they arrived on the planet, they constructed a series of great barriers that would protect them from the Outer Gods and the Aboleth. They then created a series of magnificent cities and magical creations that would help them rebuild and atone for their past.
However, something was brewing within the sealed off worlds. The Watcher. When the barriers were being constructed on this distant planet, the elder gods were watching. They sent one of their kin to be sealed within this barrier, and their job would be to torment the escaping Azlanti for millennia. Its job would be to watch them, and use its power to foil their efforts for all time, tormenting them without ceasing and turning their creations against them.
However soon the purpose of the plane diverted, it became a prison by those who were deemed to be problematic, and eventually would turn their worlds to either dust or start end times. Aur is now a prison plane for people who would not only upset the balance of their worlds but those who spelled doom.
