The Mines of Torag

Along with the first to arrive upon the new world were the Dwarves of Torag, a small group of forge priests and warriors who saw this unconquered planet as an opportunity. So, using magic to locate the closest deposit of iron and coal to make steel - they dug unwaveringly, for days straight. They created elaborate tunnels and mine shafts that seemed almost labyrinthine - practically giving what they could not use to the newly forming town of Aurelian, including stone and lesser metals like copper and scrap-iron.
However, their fervent digging and mining lead to them discovering something else. One day, the Dwarves of Torag never came back to Aurelian.
