Basic Information

Anatomy

Devilkin have a standard humanoid appearance with one head, two arms, two legs, and a torso. Some are capable of having a leathery tail, or horns, or a combination of both.

Genetics and Reproduction

Devilkin can be born to both humans and Half-Elves. They are a result of magics from the Fall of Shards, they are a genetic anomaly. Though Devilkin have a demonic appearance with the horns and tails, there is no direct connection to demonic origins.

It is also not uncommon for Devilkin to sire other Devilkin, or even those with more Human or Half-Elven appearance.

Growth Rate & Stages

Tieflings mature at the same rate as humans, and tend to live approximately 150 years.

Devilkin have a limited darkvision, though they cannot determine colors in the darkness.

Naming Traditions

Despite being born of Human or Half-Elven parents, they are often given a name distinct from standard naming conventions, sometimes out of spite, sometimes to distinguish the child and note what they are. Since many parents tend to distance themselves from their Devilkin young, it is rare they will have their surnames. A Devilkin may adopt their own, or instead walk through life without a last name as a badge of independence.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Many people fear the Devilkin, based solely on their appearance. However, most civilized societies are not openly hostel towards them. That being said it is not uncommon for folke to go as far as reporting them to the Order of the Silver Sun. Ironically there are a large number of Devilkin within the ranks of the Order of the Silver Sun who make it their mission to combat ghosts, demons, and other creatures of the night.
As time has begun to pass since the Fall of Shards Devilkin are becoming more and more accepted. Many go out of their way to try and prove themselves in their region and gain the favor of the people.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking

Devilkin usually have a very uncommon skin color, such as blue, purple, red, black, white, or yellow. However, their environment does not affect this hue, meaning they won't be able to tan, get sunburn, nor will they grow more pale with less exposure to sunlight.
