Dwarves
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dwarves are stout, squat humanoids that are very muscular.
Biological Traits
Dwarven Resilience. You have advantage on saving throws against poison, and you have resistance against poison damage
Stonecunning. Spending so much time below ground surrounded by stone makes them experts in stonework. They are able to pull from that deep knowledge when determining information based on stone, or stonemason work (Whenever you make an Intelligence (History) check related to the origin of stonework, you are considered proficient in the History skill and add double your proficiency bonus to the check, instead of your normal proficiency bonus.)
Dwarven Combat Training. Training to defend against subterranean terrors and creatures leaves them proficient with the Battleaxes, Handaxes, Light Hammers, and Warhammers. Additionally they are unburdened by heavy armors.
Natural Artisans. Generations of Dwarves have been stonemasons, brewers, and smiths. It is commonplace for Dwarves to teach their young to be proficient with the tools of their families profession.

Genetics and Reproduction
Dwarves mature at the same rate as Humans, but they’re considered young until they reach the age of 50. Once they reach 290 years they are considered old. On average, they live about 350 years.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Dwarves generally prefer meat and will often snub their nose at green vegetables. Potatoes or other roots are fine, normally cut into a stew or offered as a side at best, but sausages and steak are their main meal. Of course, no meal is complete without a hearty brew, of which there are plenty of competing favorites to choose from.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Originally they could be found in the mountains, and as a result many of the largest and most prosperous Dwarf kingdoms can be found within and beneath the mountains. However, Dwarves are becoming more and more common throughout the rest of Aurelimoore, normally in taverns and forges.
Average Intelligence
Despite many opinions, Dwarves are actually quite intelligent, especially in the field of engineering rivaled only by the Gnomes. Key inventions include steam powered engines, drilling machines, and a form of automatons.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Darkvision. Accustomed to life underground, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Dwarves read, write, and speak common and dwarven.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Although known for their propensity for the brew, they are just as drawn to puffing a pipe, especially in their rare downtime. Ornate pipes are even a symbol of status to some, and pipe collecting is an accepted and common hobby.
Common Taboos
Shaving ones beard is frowned upon and having a beard forcefully removed is the greatest humiliation a dwarf can face.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Dwarves are notoriously stubborn and are difficult to convince to other ways of thinking. They are also well known for carrying grudges... a slight against a Dwarf could last through several generations and some family clans have been at odds for so long they're unsure where it all began. These two qualities coupled with their general gruffness can make socializing and good company difficult to find.
