Episode 5 & 6: Report: To Make a Name

General Summary

The Strangers have explored Dugang, met eccentric individuals, spent a large sum to improving their capabilities. While they get more powerful they are still seen as unknowns, outsiders, men not proven. Seeking to rectify that they seek out the Sapphire Light Guild and apply to join. This Hunting and Research Guild was happy to give them an opportunity by sending them on an investigation to find missing Goblinoid miners on the southern tip of Ilborndan. Additionally they sought the enigmatic Man of Sunflowers, while not meeting this figure face to face, they saw the handiwork of this individual, rumors, rumors before they even pass the chatter in the local tavern or notice board. With these rumors they lead to possible means to establish their reputation. Wanting to make their deeds at Palm Siama known they sought out the castle of Great Lord Tongpai. They are met by one of the Great Lord's stewards Ohil Quennare, the bald high elf is curious of the Strangers stories. That curiosity turned into disappointment, instead of providing the story in clear detail the Strangers felt nervous and tried to deceive the Steward. Steward Ohil was willing to look past the first mixing of details but when the Strangers continued to try to twist their story he saw through them. Ohil reminded them the status they have as a group, that they have no known name in these lands, with no evidence it will be hard to believe the whole story. But the Strangers trying to reestablish favor confessed to having relics. Instead of confiscating them and imprisoning the party, Ohil gave a black rose to them. it is a mark, a reminder that if a case like this were to happen again not just House Kitsune but the rest of the Great Houses would brand them as Nameless and dishonored, a fate perhaps worse than a simple fine and imprisonment. Because of some of the truthful facts they shared Ohil spared them because at least try to recruit some of the Palm Siama refugees and leave House Crane to deal with the Sahuagin threat that the Strangers unwittingly made worse. The Strangers are to prove the weight of their name and come back as honorable members of the land for the Mark to be removed. With lessons hopefully learned the Strangers make their way to find the lost miners, through difficulty travel through the rain and wetlands they overcome a poorly planned Kobold stick up. They have successfully located the missing miners, and quickly learn that this area belongs to a very territorial Ankheg.
