Jögrim, the Lord of Storms

Jögrim, also known as "Lord of Storms", is the god of natural disasters and battle. He is a harsh being, who decrees that only through hardship can strength be found. To this end, he is responsible for calamities the world over, in an attempt to temper the people's of the world and prepare them for the dangers of mortal life.   The followers of Jögrim are most often warriors, champions of great renown who wish to strengthen themselves to achieve eternal glory. These berserk warriors often make pilgrimage to the Barrow Mountains, where they perpetually do battle with one another to earn the patronage of their deity.   Jögrim is also worshiped by those who must regularly confront difficulties in their lives, including explorers, travelers, frontiersmen, or survivors of calamities. These peoples will turn to Jögrim to give them strength in the face of difficult times, and ask for his guidance in overcoming his trials. The Giants in particular turn to Jögrim in times of need. The Barrow Mountains are named for the many Giant burial mounds that litter the range, as their kind often choose to be buried in sight of the Lord of Storms.   Legend has it that Jögrim holds a deep hatred of Dragons. It is said that it was he who landed the first blow against the dragons when the mortals of the material plane rose up against them, wounding the goddess Typhoon, the Realm Dragon and paving the way for others to take up arms against their draconic overlords.   Jögrim's faithful are presided over by a trio of warrior-priests known as The Lord-Aspects of Jögrim. These beings represent Jögrim's interests in both a religious capacity as well as applicable matters of state. The current Lord-Aspects are the high-priestess Ophelia Thunderbird, the warrior-champion Argilac Raincaller, and their enigmatic leader Lord Loche.   Jögrim is worshiped a primary deity among the Sons of the Titan, and is considered an evil deity by the Draconic Pantheon.
