Brandruin Archipelago
Connecting the continents of Edea and Xedaris lies a vast, sprawling archipelago of small landmasses, mountain chains, volcanic islands and subtropical isles. The archipelago was formed after the surge of land northward caused by the the Schism, and acted as a tool of resource movement and warfare throughout the war and beyond as it became a hotspot for divine energy throughout the first millennia of the third age.
The archipelago is home to various volcanoes which have been highly active at various points throughout their history, the largest of which being the Serlcrum on the largest island in the Moonkeeper Pass - the island of Syber. The island is home to various other biomes, mostly subtropics and temperate zones looking over vibrant and luscious reefs - as well as deep fiery canyons giving rise to various ocean storms. The climate is unpredictable and harsh, which gives protection to many of the small island tribes and races which live along and beside the islands, such as Genasi, Merfolk and the Merrow.
Supposedly, the islands were first colonised by the a group of sun elves, who split off into two groups one of which formed the first tribes on syber, and the other fled into the western seas and quickly adapted to the waters around The Kalimar Reef.
Much of the civilisation upon the Brandruin is dedicated to divine worship, with many abandoned or populated temples and sanctuaries devoted to various gods or interpretations thereof being discovered over the many years of exploration. The islands themselves are not prone to the weak-willed explorers, with steep, harsh climbs and deadly flora and fauna found within the forests and mountains of the wilderness. Only the most vicious and hardy creatures survived the schism, and many - adapted to harsh, hot waters, soon found there way onto land to hunt for mammalian meat, all too happy to hunt an adventurer and take their spoils for loot.
