Chronomachina

The Plane of Singularity

Chronomachina is one of 16 Outer Realms and the Lawful Neutral Plane of Order, Knowledge and Singularity. Home of the Warforged, Estrialists. Chronomachina is under the surveillance of the Curator, the God/Avatar of everything listed above. The plane itself has no base, instead being filled with an infinite number of country-sized circular interlocking gears which are habitable on one or both sides - the largest of these being Metris, Chronomachina's Capital. These great flat wheels are at least 100 miles in diameter and have teeth that mesh at right angles, all turning slowly in synchronicity. Each disk has its own gravity that operates in a sphere circumscribing it exactly and pulling normal to the top and bottom surfaces and the void between the gears is filled with air, allowing easy flight. Outside a gravity sphere, objects would feel only very weak attraction to nearby disks. Chronomachina is connected to the Echo Realms via the Astral Plane, and to the Outer Planes of Aloriel and Etorea by portals which appear once every revolution of the gears they belong to. The period of rotation depends on the size of the gear, with a typical period for Aloriel being only around 6 months, as opposed to a typical period for Etorea leaning closer to a decade. The portals stay open for exactly one day, unless manually closed from both sides. A plane of Law and Order, Chronomachina has equal amounts of light and dark, heat and cold, and equal measures of the four elements. There was a place for everything and everything was in its place. Even individuals living here existed to fit into the greater scheme of things and thus achieve a perfect society. That was, until, the Great Convergence.
