Tri-Lunar Celestia
Alana's crossing
Definitively the rarest and most spectacular metaphysical event to ever grace the plane of Avaløn, the Tri-Lunar Celestia occurs when all three of the realm's moons (Acra, Xenvia and Ixaris) all align to become full moons at the same time. It happens around once every 500 years, meaning most won't live to see one in their lifetime, and only Elves ever live long enough to see two.
It is believed by both Mesilists and Estrialists that during a Tri-Lunar Celestia, Alana, the Goddess/Avatar of Avaløn and its moons wanders the realm as a mortal until the last fading hours of eventide. Because of this, the weave is said to act strangely across the realm, becoming weaker in some places and uncontrollably more volatile in other places. Funnily enough, this anomaly contributes significantly to Overblood victory in the Wars of Xandria as without the aid of the Celestia's volatile magics, Avaløn's mages wouldn't have been able to hold off Xandrian forces at Holga Hill.
Because of their rarity and spiritual significance, Tri-Lunar Celestia are celebrated with huge realmwide festivals in every city, town and village in Avaløn. It is seen as bad luck to sleep the night of a Celestia, and many stay up and watch the starry sky to try and spot Alana crossing over into the mortal realm. Huge parades run well into the early hours of morn to welcome the Goddess of the Moons, and a cheery, thrilling atmosphere fills the soul of any who participate (which is most likely everybody). And as luck would have it, the next Celestia is predicted is to happen just a year from now, on the 27th Σlṿamís 530 AXR!
