Terazi

Though virtually every city on Avanima can be considered frontier, one of the most isolated places in the world is undoubtedly the Capital and sole settlement of the Terazin. It is a highly modular and mobile city in the northeast portion of Azin that few outsiders have seen. The rainforests are difficult to travel through, and reaching it is made harder by the fact that it is occasionally forced to relocate elsewhere. However, it has recently been the subject of a couple excursions by the Cyanni.   The Olaran ministry of Science assures readers that this research has been verified, in spite of having been supplied by the Cyanni.

Demographics

The population, so isolated from the rest of the world, is almost exclusively Tangeri. These folk are physically adapted to the jungle environment. However, there are some Hirundine and Sparalus (they seem to be basically everywhere) and there are some Kahdro who originate from the continent to their north. As a fairly primitive society their social classes aren't based on wealth, so there is no middle or upper class. There is nobody around them to really trade with, only a basic government, and little economy. Most of the population works in jobs involving resource gathering or creating durable goods out of those resources. A significant number also act as warriors when threats show themselves. The only thing close to an upper class are the magicians. Magicians, unlike most of society, live in better homes and have access to resources most Terazi inhabitants don't have.

Defences

Bordering the Terazin are the "Striders", meaning that on top of the normal enemies like Apogees and other monsters they have to fight an entire species on their own. To adapt their city is extremely well hidden. Unless one knows how to reach it they could walk right past it without ever realizing they were there. Buildings are built in the tree canopy and designed to blend in. Furthermore, most of the structures are mobile. With the assistance of Kirat Birds they can be lifted and moved to new locations, whether it is because room needs to be cleared for new structures or because the city has been compromised. Every once and a while, usually every 15 years, the city's location becomes compromised to its enemies. The Terazin respond to this simply by moving it. These are mind-boggling endeavors for outsiders to witness, but these movements are well coordinated and planned years in advance. Sometimes they will revert to sites where it used to be, sometimes it will receive a new location. Regardless, a few potential locations are always kept in mind in case of an emergency.
